If you want to drop me an email with some login details for your hosting account then I shall take a lok at set it up for you. I think it will be easier than me trying to explain. I should be able to get the db details from ftp information if you would rather send that.

Hi, looks to me like the tables arent created in your database. Can you confirm this for me. The SQL to create them is either in a separate text file called something like ym_tables.sql or in the ym-initialise.php file somewhere. just run the create table code and it should work fine.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi Tim - I'm using 1.5.4, and can't seem to work coupon management.

Like others have described, no matter what I enter into name/value/description, when I click "save" the page refreshes, and all I see is "There are currently no coupons in the database."

Suggestions?

Hi Sean,

Thanks for that - I tried installing the plugin but even though it is now active and I have changed the text, it is still sending the old text when a new user registers. I decided instead to try adding the instructional info we want to the Callback thankyou message in the PayPal Standards setting screen instead but I'm having problems there also (see my resonse to the post: http://newmedias.co.uk/support/topic/paypal-standards-form-doesnt-save?replies=5#post-6989 )

I'm having the same problem on my site. I've tried deactivating and I've also tried deleting the ym_paypal value in the database. Deleting ym_paypal did reset all the values back to 0 but when entering a new text into the Callback thankyou message and
Callback failed message, neither of them saved again.

Well you can use the description from the roles page in the pack names on the register form. Just go to the YM messages page and look at the bottom where you will find templates. Then follow the instructions as appropriate.

Let us know how it goes.

I know you can modify how the Register page looks by changing the Message information but I was wondering if there is any way to hand code the description of each package onto the Registration page. Or to separate memberships by Ongoing and 1 time memberships. The reason for this is that my site offers both types of memberships (1 Day, 1 Month, 3 Months, 6 Months, 1 Year and then 1 Day Ongoing, 1 Month Ongoing, 3 Months Ongoing, 6 Months Ongoing, 1 Year Ongoing) and other than stating on the site like I do now it looks a little confusing.

"The bottom option for each membership duration is an Auto-Renew Membership. (ie. the first "34.95 USD for 1 Month" is a 1 time payment. The second "34.95 USD for 1 Month" in the list is Auto-Renewing and will renew every month until you cancel your membership.)"

Maybe just use the Description on the Member Rolls page. Just a thought.

Hi Maja, not possible i'm afraid. The status you set is YM only. Paypal has been instructed from the start of the subscription to bill monthly for a number of months. The only way to pause a subscription to my knowledge is to cancel it. I don't think that Paypal allows for the editing for existing subscriptions. Another down side to the processor I suppose.

Hello there:)

I know you might be busy fixing the PayPal IPN bug (which is not the only naughty thing PayPal did recently but that's topic for another place and time I guess...) but I’ll still try my luck.

I am not sure whether this question is right for this place and I apologise if I’m wrong. I am using the version 1.5.3(developer). It seems that the first subscription doesn't get activated automatically, but then even if you set the member state to inactive, it will still get restarted and activated automatically at the point of periodical payment. So, it works!!! It wasn't just once, it did happen 3 times. Now, I have the opposite issue from everybody else here:

The site XYZ has got a number of members and for reason X (which is quite legitimate) site XYZ needs to temporarily suspend a membership for one of the users and also so _no subscription_ is taken. How do we do this? I have tried to set status to inactive only, but that doesn’t work. I have tried to set the status to expired, that doesn’t work. (When I say doesn’t work – means that the subscription keeps becoming active and payment goes through each period-start). I have tried to set the account to ‘Free’ and inactive, that didn’t do anything. We don’t want to delete the user. Just suspend for a period of time, which might be short or long... How do we suspend payments and make the membership inactive until we restart their account?

Thanks,
Maja

Hi Mark,

You should get an email from Paypal whenever funds are deposited in your account. It's a bit trickier on our site, as the owner gets the emails rather than me, but when there's anything going oddly with Paypal, I make a habit of just checking once or twice a day to see if there have been new payments; if so, I pull up the member's record in YM and just confirm that the expiry date has been correctly extended and they are still "active". If I fail to do so on occasion, I usually get an email from the member asking why they can't log in despite having paid up, which prompts me to go check it out and fix. I don't know how many members you have (we're running about 400 currently) but it's really not that dreadful to keep up with.

Hope that helps,
Susan

Yes Paypal will certainly rebill, I don't know if you get an email though sorry. I would imagine so or maybe you can set it as a preference in the Paypal account settings?

cheers

Hi Mark,

Please don't feel like we are ignoring you. Tim is currently running some tests with CECat. I am also looking into the problem. We shall let you know more when we know more.

Regarding your questions...

1) Assuming you are using version 1.4.6 or newer the Paypal trial option is available in the subscriptions page. Choose yes to 'use trial' and set the trial price to be £1 (with 1 month) then choose £10 for 1 month in the normal price box. You need to choose ongoing in the num cycles box to get it going monthly.

2) Yes Paypal will automatically take a monthly payment and send an IPN to your site. Whether or not your site deals with it and sends the appopriate notification is what we are trying to decide. Having never run my own subscription service I couldn't tell you if you get a monthly email from Paypal. Maybe another forum member will jump in here and let you know.

Apologies for the delay. As Susan says, our support is not usually slow but we are working as fast as we can. I appreciate you all have businesses to run and will get it sorted asap.

cheers

hi guys..i am very worried for a variety of reasons..

1) can you please let me know how i set up a £1 trial for 1 month membership level... which then automatically charges the person on a recuring basis £10 per month... all done seamlessly behind the scenes..

2) as my members are not being auto activated by paypal..i am having to actiate by hand.. but i am confused... should i activate them for 1 month..or activate them for longer.. what happens at the end of their month? does paypal auto take the money? and then wll i get an email to confirm this? so presumbaly I can then keep them in...

I am asking these questions, as I really want to stay with you guys, and am asking for some support please... I have issues / questions / concerns... and I cant seem to get any answers from anyone...

I am available on skype... shawmark1536... on twitter.. twitter.com/markshaw.. on the phone 07990 743 564... I am very keen to resolve this asap...

Please guys.. can you please help me...

Sean:

Still running into problems. I was getting errors in 1.4.5 and 1.5.3 wouldn't run in the same manner as I reported at the start of this.

So I re-installed 1.4.5. and hit the delete Your Members button. Cleared out everything including the license. Any way to reset this at your end so I can get it all working again?

I'm back in... I had to burn a couple of other plugins out and it looks like there may have been some security issues as a result of another test I ran. Did some housekeeping and cleaned out the orphan tables and settings and it looks like I'm back in again.

Also deleted YM and re-installed 1.45. I will attempt the upgrade to 1.53 again and see how that goes.

Thanks!
