Is there a way to display the upgrade/downgrade page (?ym_subscribe=1&ud=1) in a custom page?

I need to provide my Free users with an explanation of the options for upgrading their accounts, and it will be nice to be able to do so.

Another thing that could be useful, would be the ability to change the text that shows on the subscription page for Free accounts. It currently shows "Free account", but I would want to change this to, for example, "Pay Per View".

    Thanks,

Hi Jossi not sure what you mean with your first request? do you want to add an explanation page within your users profile area?

The second one currently would be very difficult to many things are still hard coded rather then using a central call of some sort. If you have specific locations where you want it to say Pay Per View then you might be able to change the name in the code or lets us know which and we will change it for you.

    Hi Tim,

For the first question, this is what I want to do: To have a page mysite.com/upgrade/ that will contain information about all the subscription types as well as radio buttons so that users can chose and upgrade their accounts (similar to what you get at mysite.com/?ym_subscribe=1&ud=1 + an explanation of the choices)

Of course I can just create a page with the explanations, and provide a link to mysite.com/?ym_subscribe=1&ud=1, but it will be much better if I can provide the info and the possibility to upgrade from *one single page*.

As for the second question, I need the "Free Account" to display instead "Pay Per View" on the what gets displayed at ?ym_subscribe=1&ud=1 as well as what gets displayed in the Registration form.

That form looks great PB. Question is, where is the integration with YM?

There is no reason why we can't make this idea work with YM but we are a little pressed for time at the moment. My general idea is to use the code that generates the sidebar widget for ym offering the upgrade options etc but make it available to display on a page or post instead. This will be done asap but I think that Tim wants to get 1.3.6 bug free and released before we move onto anything else.

  7. That example is just an empty shell.

Intergration with YM - Now that is the tricky part -
You will either have to hack the wordpress registration form (which is not recommended)
Or use the CYC plugin that TIM mentioned somewhere(it makes your registration form, login form, and user profile appear on your site within a page - no more ugly wordpress backend stuff)

The plugin will need to be tweaked a little to pull in selective YM data.

You can wrap the example around what is already coded in the plugin so when you choose your membership type you will get the registeration form... with user fields and radio buttons with membership chooses.

I would make the choose button auto select the membership type so instead of selecting the radio button users just push the choose button.

I haven't spent much time with the actual registration process(membership type select etc), and I don't know all the code behind it, but I do know it is doable.

  8. Sorry, Sean - phone rang while typing - didn't see your post.

Would be great if something like that was part of the YM plugin.

Wouldn't be to hard to do... But I know you guys are pressed for time.

    Edit:
Aaarg! The phone won't stop ringing...

For the rest of us while we wait
The CYC Plugin(Customize Your Community) is really great if you are not scared to play around with the code.

Because of the small delay we were able to add a quick feature if you put [[ym_upgrade]] into a page or post it will display possible upgrade options. Currently doesn't look great but you can I'm sure do some styling.

  10. YM Membership Cart
Found this... it uses a same type of system as YM and a small bit of js and looks fantastic and is only 10kb - could be a winner, just adding it to discussion in case jossi comes back ;)
