    Ladies and Gents Your Members 1.5.3 has been released to both developer and single license holders!

    Your Members 1.5.3 new features

    • Paypal Trials - yes you begged us in some cases literally so they are in (sorry no clickbank or worldpay)
    • New Membership shortcode - allowing you to no longer show member info just on profile page
    • overhaul of widgets, and we have switched all shortcode to use wordpress inbuilt system
    • Enhanced security on paypal transactions and tidied code
    • Both one of payments and subscriptions can now be mixed
    • Improved download manager
    • improved user_has_access function more robust and easier for third party interactions
    • New actions, filters and hooks
    • Map Wordpress Roles to Subscription
    • Pay Per Post Packs
    • Coupons

    Oh and we fixed a couple of bugs as well...

    Important - the authentication system now has a new option of "Old" & "New" style its no secret we are not lovers of wp-commerce and so have been developing our own system code named imaginatively for us YBuy we will be deploying this new shop with a new version of the site. I'm sure you have all worked out if you buy a copy prior to this swap you use "Old" style authentication, don't worry your license hasn't changed no one is getting any benefits it's just with the move we have been able to integrate the authentication much more tightly into the shop.

    Should you upgrade?
    Yes this fixes many problems and a host of new features.

    How do you upgrade?
    Log into YM under Available Betas in the version control will be the download simply download and upload the files.

    Just a heads up that we will be releasing a new beta to dev license holders now before you pelt me with tomatoes single license holders there is a really good reason, you will notice I said beta...

    I would like to introduce you to the new features in the newly promoted...

    New features in 1.5.0 beta

    • Pay Per Post Packs, allowing you to sell groups of posts in a single pack, making YM the most flexible payment system ever period full stop!
    • 2 new short codes [private_or] and [private_and] allowing you to build logic into your posts and further define what individual users can see
    • Time sensitive posts, allowing you to prevent people seeing paid content that was published prior to their joining

    We have also fixed a couple of bugs, none of these additions would have been possible without support (financial and pushing us) of people on the forums.

    Installing this beta - Important
    You must uninstall previous version of YM to add the new tables (or run it on a fresh install) hence why we are not offering to single license users till we have included a upgrade script.

    I am still not clear the usage scenario for "Map Wordpress Roles to Subscription" as it relates to YM....is it now possible to:

    - map a WP role to a paid subscription
    - default new wp registration to this role
    - process paypal payment as part of the registration process?

    It's pretty much the same as you would expect. on purchassing the pack the user is upgraded to that role (when payment for the pack is complete). When the pack expires they will be dropped to subscriber again. I think you can add new roles with the role manager plugin and assign permissions to those roles meaning this is quite flexible with a bit of fiddling. However it isnt really going to be used by most people.

    Yes its possible to default subs to that role. i think its only available with paypal at the moment. i cant remember if i copied the code to clickbank or worldpay.
